Media Literacy basically means how do we critically learn to read the media( such as a book), and also how do we produce it, it is also about creating and accessing it. Basically what I got from the first video is that media(media literacy)plays an important role in our lives and our lifestyles. Jobs such as journalists, parents, teachers, independent media makers and public health advocates maximize the effects of the second trend; towards independence, localism, diversity and challenge the first trend which is the trend towards corprite power, centralization, consalidation and profit seeking.
There is 5 basic questions about media literacy:
1. Who sent the message?
2. What techniques are used to attract my attention?
3.How might other people understand this message?
4.What values are represented in or omitted from this message?
5.Why was this message sent?
